Public-private partnership infrastructure delivery has been proven to be one of the most efficient ways to improve infrastructure stock in different countries, where a private investor works with a Public Authority to finance, design, build, and operate public infrastructure.
University of Idaho’s Utility System is Sacyr’s first-ever investment in North America. Sacyr manages the Concessionaire, a private entity with whom the University has signed a 50-year lease that operates and maintains the University’s Utility System at their Moscow, ID campus. The Concessionaire is also responsible for delivering significant repairs, capital replacements, and expansions to allow the University to meet its needs over the term.
Position Summary
Sacyr is seeking a Project Coordinator to support and oversee the operations of our University of Idaho asset. The person will report to the Concessionaire’s Managing Director.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- On-site supervision and monitoring of the daily operations provided by the Concessionaire’s dedicated contractor at the University of Idaho’s Moscow campus.ite
- Act as close liaison with the University’s leadership.
- Supervise and monitor the delivery of capital improvements to the utility system, including all stages from their proposal stage to commissioning. Review all technical and financial documents received from our local contractor and any other parties.
- Prepare deliverables for the Concessionaire’s management and the University, including those related to financial forecasts, capital planning, technical reports, and other summaries..
Requirements
- At least 2/3 years of experience performing duties and responsibilities similar to those outlined above.
- Degree in Civil, Electrical, or MechanicalEngineering. A background and studies in business administration is highly recommended.
- Focus in the infrastructure sector (preferably utilities). High proficiency in Microsoft Excel including working with financial models and other Office apps.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Comfort working both independently and with a team, self-motivated.
- A desire to develop skills in project management and project finance further.
