Design Build Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads in-house engineering and external designer teams during the pursuit and execution of alternative delivery projects (DB, PDB, P3)
  • Coordinates in-house engineering and design staff assignments and workloads; develops staffing forecasts and budgets.
  • Spearheads the alternative technical concept´s process for the pursuit of alternative delivery contracts, identifying innovative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Leads the exploration of value engineering ideas, alternate designs, or new technologies and promote innovative design solutions for pursuits and projects
  • Participates in technical presentations to the project Owner and other stakeholders
  • Reviews and evaluates design packages for alternative delivery pursuits or active projects to verify compliance with all applicable standards and contract documents as well as feasible constructability, cost efficiency and design optimization.
  • Ensures timely submission of accurate and complete design packages for both the pursuit and the construction phases of the project.
  • Tracks and monitors the design process and cost reporting to the project management team Integrates design and construction on heavy civil design-build projects.
  • Research and analysis of the design firms market, maintaining open communication with design firms, identifying and negotiating with the most suitable firms to collaborate in project pursuits.
  • Analysis and negotiation of different agreements with design firms (i.e TDA, DSA)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in a related field (e.g. Architecture, Construction, Engineering)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred
  • 7+ years relevant work experience
  • Experience with alternative delivery contracts (i.e, DB, PDB, P3)
  • Experience in pursuit and delivery of large-scale heavy civil projects
