BID Manager

We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager in major infrastructure projects. You will be part of the pre-construction team reporting directly to the head of pre-construction in our head office in Toronto. You will be a key member of our organization by working in multiple tenders and pursuits in Canada with the support of an international group that delivers large and complex infrastructure in more than 25 countries.
The Bid Manager will be responsible for developing the submissions for the Request For Qualifications (RFQ’s) and Request For Proposals (RFP’s) of the pursuits in Ontario but also across Canada.
You will contribute to the team with your skills, an open-mind approach and high motivation to develop top-standard proposals for our clients to demonstrate value for money in delivering first class infrastructure, while fostering long-term relationships with our industry partners and key stakeholders.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Team lead for the management of the design, technical writing, estimating, construction plans, scheduling, risks, and commercial matters throughout the bid process.
- Liaise and actively participate in technical and commercial meetings with clients, JV partners, consultants and other relevant stakeholders to develop top-scoring proposals while promoting collaborative and long-term relationships.
- Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings to identify risks, requirements, and opportunities. Ensure all submissions are in compliance with applicable laws and proposal requirements.
- Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to request proposals for scopes of works and review technical, cost, schedule and commercial considerations of their proposals and negotiate as required.
- Manage the administration of the proposal costs of third parties that are entitled to compensation.
- Support Business Development in identifying new opportunities and attending Market Soundings from Clients.
- Prepare presentation materials for clients and management as required.
- Active contribution of content to the technical narratives and development of responsibility matrix, registers, logs, calendar, project sheets, resumes or other sections required to develop the proposal.
- Oversee RFI’s submission and responses for internal reporting to the bid team and management on relevant issues.
What you bring
- A University Degree or College Diploma in Engineering or Construction Management or a combination of education and industry experience
- +10 years of relevant experience in major infrastructure projects.
- Experience in P3 and Collaborative contracting projects will be considered an asset.
- Advanced written and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Visio, SharePoint and other tools to prepare top-class proposal documents.
- Positive attitude and open-minded individual willing to promote teamwork and collaborative culture.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with outstanding care for detail and accuracy.
- Resourceful and self-motivated with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
