Duties and responsibilities of the position:
The selected candidate will join as an Industrial Construction Health & Safety Supervisor on behalf of the Project Management and Control Company (EPCM), becoming part of the project's HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) team. Their mission will be to supervise the proper implementation of health and safety measures on site, support the preventive coordination of activities, and contribute to integrating prevention into the daily execution of construction works. It will not be necessary to act as a Construction Health & Safety Coordinator or as a designated preventive resource.
Main responsibilities include:
Supervising on-site compliance with safety procedures, work permits, client requirements, and applicable preventive measures.
Conducting regular safety inspections across different construction areas, identifying deviations, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
Monitoring critical activities such as work at height, lifting operations, confined-space entry, electrical work, hot work, excavation activities, scaffolding erection, and the use of MEWPs (Mobile Elevating Work Platforms).
Verifying that work is carried out using the appropriate collective protection systems, personal protective equipment (PPE), signage, barriers, and auxiliary equipment.
Supporting the coordination of business activities with contractors and subcontractors, particularly in situations involving simultaneous operations and work interface conflicts.
Reviewing on-site the availability and adequacy of permits, procedures, checklists, risk assessments, work instructions, and applicable HSE documentation.
Participating in coordination meetings, toolbox talks, safety briefings, and HSE induction sessions.
Recording inspections, safety observations, non-conformities, and corrective actions, and monitoring them through to closure.
Assisting in the investigation of incidents, accidents, and near misses by providing field information and proposing preventive measures.
Supporting the preparation of audits, internal inspections, client visits, and HSE reports.
Promoting a positive safety culture by encouraging risk communication and compliance with safety rules.
Immediately reporting any serious or imminent risk situations to the appropriate line management and responsible personnel.
We are looking for a profile with the following requirements and competences:
-University degree: Engineering or similar.
-Minimum experience of 5 years in similar roles.
-French mandatory. English and Spanish valuable.
-Professional certifications and related postgraduate degrees will be positively valued.
