Senior International Water Project Coordinator (Arizona)

Job functions and responsibilities:
1. Project Coordination & Management:
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams (engineering, environmental, legal, financial, commercial, construction, O&M).
- Support all project lifecycle phases: feasibility, RFQ/RFP preparation, preconstruction, development, and early execution stages.
- Ensure timely preparation, consolidation, and submission of technical and commercial deliverables.
- Monitor schedules, risks, budgets, and project milestones, reporting regularly to Madrid HQ.
2. Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
- Serve as Sacyr’s primary representative with partners, clients, advisors, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with utilities, regulatory bodies, institutions, and potential partners.
- Coordinate with external consultants across technical, environmental, financial, legal, and communications disciplines.
3. Technical & Contractual Support
- Assist in reviewing process designs, treatment capacities, mass balances, performance guarantees, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and review of contractual documents, scopes of work, proposals, risk registers, and procurement strategies.
- Ensure compliance with best international industry practices, client specifications, and regulatory frameworks.
4. Reporting & Internal Coordination
- Maintain effective communication between U.S.-based activities and Madrid HQ teams.
- Prepare progress reports, meeting minutes, decision logs, and internal presentations.
- Contribute to internal governance processes such as bid approvals and project reviews.
5. Market Intelligence & Business Development Support
- Identify potential opportunities within the U.S. water P3/PPP market and other strategic regions.
- Support early evaluations of opportunities, partnerships, and consortium setups.
- Represent Sacyr at sector events, meetings, and forums when required.
We are looking for a profile with the following requirements and competencies:
Education & Experience:
- Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Industrial), Project Management, or similar.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in infrastructure project development or project management, preferably within the water sector.
- Experience coordinating complex, international, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Prior exposure to PPP/P3 frameworks or major public-sector capital programs is highly valued.
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of water treatment processes (SWRO desalination, potable water, wastewater).
- Ability to interpret engineering documents, schedules, WBS structures, scopes, and financial inputs.
- Familiarity with permitting, regulatory processes, and environmental evaluations is an advantage.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
- High autonomy, problem-solving skills, and strong organizational discipline.
- Cultural adaptability and comfort working in diverse international environments.
Languages
- English: C2 (mandatory)
- Spanish: C1–C2 (mandatory)
