Duties and responsibilities of the position:
Supervision of Concrete repairs (Critical):
Closely supervise the concrete repair works to be done in various areas of the plant
Supervise concrete structures and steel structures repairs, verifying the correct installation of repairing products and compliance with technical specifications
Monitor and survey of installed quantities of repairing mortars and resins. Adecuate control of materials used by Contractor
Ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the plans, technical specifications, and established safety procedures minimizing the risk of damage to existing facilities
Supervision of Excavations and Piling:
Supervise and control excavations, ensuring slope stability, compliance with safety regulations, and proper execution of the works.
Supervise piling activities, verifying the correct installation of piles and compliance with technical specifications.
Supervision of Underground Piping Installation (Critical):
Closely supervise the assembly and installation of underground pipelines, ensuring correct alignment, leveling, protection, and testing (hydraulic, etc.).
Verify the integrity of the pipes and materials before, during, and after installation.
Ensure that specific procedures are followed for the handling and installation of pipes in a brownfield environment, minimizing the risk of damage to existing facilities.
Quality Control:
Implement and maintain a quality control system to ensure that civil works comply with project requirements and French regulations.
Conduct quality inspections and tests at all stages of the process.
Prepare quality reports and follow up on non-conformities.
Safety Management (Priority):
Ensure strict compliance with French safety regulations in all civil activities.
Identify and assess the occupational risks associated with the works, especially in deep excavations, piling, and work near buried pipelines.
Implement preventive measures to minimize risks and prevent accidents.
Conduct safety inspections on site and verify the correct use of personal protective equipment.
Work Permit Management (Essential):
Manage and obtain the necessary work permits for civil activities, in accordance with the LNG plant's procedures and French regulations.
Ensure that all workers are properly trained and authorized to perform the assigned tasks.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate and communicate with the construction manager, other supervisors, contractors, and suppliers.
Participate in coordination meetings to discuss work progress, solve problems, and make decisions. Prepare progress reports and communicate any problems or delays to the construction manager.
Documentation:
Maintain up-to-date project documentation, including plans, technical specifications, construction procedures, quality reports, safety records, and work permits.
Ensure proper document management according to the LNG plant's standards
We are looking for a profile with the following requirements and competences:
Education: Civil Engineer or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience supervising civil projects in the industrial sector, preferably in oil & gas plants (especially LNG) or brownfield projects. Demonstrable experience supervising excavations, piling works and underground piping installation. Experience managing work permits in France.
Knowledge: Strong knowledge of French technical regulations applicable to civil projects (Eurocodes, DTU, etc.), concrete repair techniques, geotechnics, soil mechanics and slope stability. Knowledge of occupational safety requirements in construction under French regulations. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and project management tools.
Languages: Native or bilingual French (essential). English is desirable.
Skills: Leadership and team management capabilities, excellent communication and negotiation skills in French, strong problem-solving abilities, results-oriented approach, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a complex and demanding brownfield environment.
Remarks: Previous experience working on LNG plants in France will be highly valued. Availability to work flexible hours and adapt to project requirements is required.
